 La Cruz 2nd International Fishing Tournament

Club de Pesca Deportiva Tepic A.C. - Tepic, MexicoTepic’s Sport Fishing Club is hosting and organizing the 2nd International Fishing Tournament in La Cruz de Huanacaxtle, on the Riviera Nayarit, from October 9-13, 2013.

More than 3.5 million in prizes will be given away for the winners of this tournament. In the first International  Sport Fishing Tournament in La Cruz Huanacaxtle Mexico, on the Riviera Nayarit.  The number of participating vessels for attendance was a record with a total of 50 boats entered, an amount that had not been recorded in previous tournaments.

Banderas Bay is the largest natural bay in Mexico. Banderas Bay is also one of the deepest bays in the world reaching depths of over 3,000 feet.  Extending across 68 kilometers (42 miles) of the Pacific Coast, the bay begins in the south at Puerto Vallarta and flows northwest into the Riviera Nayarit at La Cruz de Huanacaxtle and Punta de Mita, then continues north beyond Sayulita and through Lo de Marcos where it joins Bahia Jaltemba Bay.

If your in need of a nice place to stay, the La Cruz Hotel Villa Amor del Mar has a couple of rooms available. It is the perfect location, right next to the Marina. Big Fish Records
There have also been some pretty big fish records at the La Cruz de Huanacaxtle Fishing Tournament, with the team  boat Giallo (right) for a Marlin at  325.00 kg., and the Sailfish record 52,200 kg. by the crew of the boat Acayapan, leader Miguel Sierra. (photo left)

Wednesday October 9th “Welcome Day”

- Official Opening for the Fishing Tournament.
Presence of the Governor of the State of Nayarit and other Civil Authorities.

Thursday October 10th “First Day of Fishing”
06:00 hrs.
- Official starting shot
- Free departure after official shot
14:00 hrs to 18:00 hrs Reception and weighing of catches
18:00 hrs. Ending of weighing of catches
19:00 hrs. Bohemian night (live music) at main square of La Cruz de Huanacaxtle

Friday October 11th “Day of Rest”
13:00 hrs.
- Official Lunch for the Tournament
- Live music
- Gifts and surprises

Saturday October 12th “Second Day of Fishing”
04:00 hrs. Departure to fish
14:00 hrs. to 18:00 hrs. Reception and weighing of catches
18:00 hrs. Ending of weighing of catches
19:00 hrs. Bohemian night (live music)

Sunday October 13th “Last Day of Fishing / Closing Ceremony”

The Bar Has Been Raised!
With large catches last year, and Club de Pesca Deportiva Tepic A.C. - Tepic, Mexicomore than 3.5 million in prizes for the winners, this will be competitive tournament with fishermen coming from all over Mexico, expats from other countries, as well as our La Cruz and the other local fishermen, which are many on the Banderas Bay alone, not to mention the entire Riviera Nayarit.
I can’t wait to see what the “Surprise Raffle” has in store for everyone!
