La Cruz Community ~ One Fun Happening Town!

Hola La Cruz Community! Things are starting to pick up in the La Cruz community 2014 season.
The sunsets have been amazing, and the Destiladeras beach is back as the tide as shifted and the rocks are gone. Yea! The long flat surface which is perfect for walking and jogging, and Destiladeras beach is also a fun beach for swimming. There is also free parking! The sun moving back towards the Marietta Islands and creating the most amazing sunsets.So, grab your hunny-bunny and family and go check out the sunset to make the perfect end of the day.

Day light savings time is approaching this weekend.  Its time to fall back and turn our clocks back one hour on October 27th. Remember if your calling the U.S. that they do not have daylight savings time until November 3rd. And speaking of November 3rd, the La Cruz Sunday Market will be having their opening Market Day on Sunday, November 3rd. Its the best and largest farmers and vendors market around Bucerias and La Cruz area. Cruzin around eating and shopping to live music really makes your day. You will probably see a lot of friends, and meet new ones too!  These folks (on right) sell the best empanadas! If you have not had the opportunity to come to the La Cruz Sunday Market (officially called the Cooperativa Huanacaxtle Sunday Market) you are really missing out! Black Forest Restaurant
Our Black Forest Restaurant Chef Winfried just came back from the La Cruz Fish Market, so our 3 course Chef Selection Menu tonight is featuring a Garden Salad with a light vinaigrette, Poached Mahi-Mahi in a Saffron Cream Sauce served with Spinach and Jasmine Rice.
Vanilla Ice Cream with Chocolate Sauce for dessert – all for 199 Pesos. This menu applies as long as supplies last from the La Cruz Fish Market.

Octopus’s Garden
The Octopus’s Garden is jumping into action with a Halloween Party on 31st. October starting at 9 pm. Tickets are $30 pesos, with prizes for the best costume made of recycled materials. For Music we have 3 DJs and the dancing will be wild! The bar snacks include 2 salads, spicy shrimp burritos,  special house quesadillas, green enchiladas, hamburgers and portobello burgers with our own baked rolls, priced from $55 to $95 pesos.
On Friday the 1st. November 5 pm. the Amigos of La Cruz Meet and Greet Cocktail party will be held here with 15% discount on drinks until 7 pm. This event is open to everyone – it’s a great opportunity to get to know some of your neighbors and find out a bit more about our town.
The Bar upstairs is open every evening except Sunday from 6 – 11 pm. and through the day the following classes are running in the salon – Yoga is now from 8.45 to 9.45 am. Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.

Get Fit Strength Training (with the tension bands) is on Monday and Friday from 9 – 10 am with Certified Instructor Beverly Kolasz. Karate For Kids under 14 years old is on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 4 – 5 pm.
Aerial Silks is on Tuesday and Thursday from 3 – 6 pm. and Dancing (Ballroom and Salsa) is on Thursdays and Saturdays from 6 – 8 pm. So come and check it out!

Oso’s Oyster Bar and Fish Market Restaurant
Its always a good time at Oso’s Oyster Bar. Enjoy the ambiance of dining on the waters edge at the beautiful La Cruz Marina. Enjoy our Chiles Güeros, fried octopus, fish Sarandeado Ceviches and more! Saturday as of 3:30 pm  watch the American baseball league. Sunday to Friday from 5 pm to 10 pm. Oso’s is also hosting the Amigos de La Cruz first event coming our way with a 50/50 raffle and silent auction on Friday, November 22, 2013. The Party starts at 5:30 to 7:00. Come on in and get your tickets!

La Cruz Community Non Profit

Happy Hour starts promptly at 5:30 to 7:00 with 2 x 1 drinks. Does this guy look happy and ready to make some drinks or what??? !
Enjoy a 3 course dinner that begins at 7:00.
~Cesar Salad followed by choice of Chicken Fajitas or
~Fish Filet al Pastor or Fish and chips with Flan for desert
There will be a 50/50 Raffle & Silent Auction
as well as Live Music, Drinking, Dancing, Come on over and have Fun with Friends!

A NEW La Cruz Restaruant is born.. Gecko Rojo
With a goal to mix it up with NEW and FRESH MUSIC… It’s not rock, it’s not blues, and its not country… check out Gecko rojo for something different! The front is a coffee house, with a free book library and great WiFi for the computer needs. Out back is a great patio for dining and music. Gecko Rojo is located on calle Langosta # 27, (where Yaya’s used to be). Look for the “red gecko” and stop in to say hello.
