La Cruz Community First Summer Rain
Hola La Cruz community and Banderas Bay people! Our first hurricane of the season is here already! May is a bit early for a hurricane, as my friend Cindy Bouchard (owner of La Cruz Boutique Beachfront Hotel Villa Amor del Mar) stated that our first La Cruz rain last season was June 21st. I feel the rain has been welcomed for most with open arms around the bay. Puerto Vallarta and Bucerias received rain a couple of days before La Cruz saw any raindrops, and the rains have not been anything torrential as the hurricane is out at sea; yet a beautiful soft rain with brilliant lightening shows in the evenings. This satellite photo is from Wednesday. As most have already heard, it is an El Nino year, and we are expected to have up to 5 major hurricanes this season. So, start preparing for our summer rainy season!
Benefit for Wayland
Wayland is to be coming home hopefully this Friday with part of his nursing staff helping for the next week. He is improving daily, and the lung infection had cleared. You may check on his status at http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/waylandcombe-wright . If you would like to donate cash monies, please do so at the Paypal account. You don’t need to have a Paypal account to do this. Simply go to Palpal.com and put in this email address (Waylands Daughter’s) Kaerolik@yahoo.com .
Benefit Wayland held at Philo’s last week was a huge success! It really does take a village, and the La Cruz community and Bucerias community and beyond came together and made it happen in a very short period of time. From the planning committee, the musical guests, the chefs, silent auction contributors, to all of the good folks that purchased tickets, drinks, and folks who purchased items in the live auction and everyone who contributed cash money, it all came together and still is! So far the tally (and still counting) is $150,000 pesos! We will have specific stats very soon, and keep you updated.
This is our village, our friends, our family, our La Cruz community coming together. It’s good to know that when we do need assistance that we are all here for each other; truly proven time and time again. I am so very honored to be a part of this energy and know the wonderful folks that make up the La Cruz community.
I would like to add, the list is quite long of everyone who contributed, and everyone does like to be validated. We would like to validate everyone who helped, and gave in their own way. THANK YOU ALL!
Wayland and Aruna salute everyone and thank you from the bottom of their hearts. The medical bills are astounding, as well as bills for continued care as Wayland recovers. Aruna told me that Wayland is humbled indeed by the outpouring of love, support and friends.
Keep sending the love and healing vibrations. We love you Wayland.

Villa Amor del Mar / La Cruz Beachfront Boutique Inn
Breezes are blowing and we had our first rain of the season last night (May 27th)… the weather is fantastic at Villa Amor del Mar. The best thing about rain in our area is that ‘almost always’ it rains at night leaving a fresh, clean, atmosphere during the day. We’re blessed to be beachfront, the best place to be where the ocean breezes keep us cool. May and June are the perfect months to visit our La Cruz Boutique hotel. Rates are lower, the town quieter and poolside and beachfront is ideal for that much deserved time off.
For the month of June, we’re offering an extra special for locals of the Banderas Bay area, book three nights and get 50% off our high season rates.
We’re calling it our ‘Be a tourist in your own town special’.
For as little as $225.00 for 2 people for 3 nights (including continental breakfast in your room) enjoy ocean breezes while hanging out in the infinity edge pool, walking the beach, or enjoying complimentary use of our Boogie boards, Kayaks and Stand up paddle-boards! Get 5 or more couples together and we’ll throw in a poolside BBQ for you and your friends! Contact Cindy@
